No, there is not. A checking account can be opened for anyone over the age of 18. However, at VFCU we offer a Youth Account for anybody that is interested in a checking account but has not reached the age of 18. To open a Youth Account the minor will need a cosigner to stay on the account until that person reaches 18, along with proper identification and a $5.00 deposit to open it.

Contact Us

To learn more about the Youth Account for your child, visit our North branch at 100-A Alton Gloor Boulevard in Brownsville. We are open on Monday-Thursday from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. or Fridays from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M.
